Nick Tewes is an expert in strategy, communication, reputation and sustainable leadership. He advises companies, foundations, governmental and non-governmental organizations not only on understanding social change, but also on shaping it through forward-looking positioning, pragmatic instruments, cooperative networks and interesting content.

From 1998 to 2016 he managed the sustainable strategy and communication of Allianz SE. As Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs he developed the social positioning and the social network on behalf of the CEOs Henning Schulte-Noelle, Michael Diekmann and Oliver Bäte. He was involved in the development of the functions of Communications, Compliance, Governmental Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Sustainability and ESG as well as Market Management and managed the strategic cooperation with these areas.

He developed and managed the Allianz’s Group-wide reputation and issues management, dialogue with non-governmental organizations and all other social stakeholders as well as public platforms, such as the Open Knowledge Website and the Allianz Forum in Berlin.

He was responsible for the research project on the history of the Allianz during the Third Reich and helped establish the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” together with the U.S. government and Chancellor Schröder.

As a trained political scientist and sociologist (Universities of Bonn and Munich), he worked from 1985 to 1998 for the Rhein-Zeitung, Tele 5, BMW AG and Philip Morris Germany, most recently as Head of External Communications.
